The Experiencing Scales FOT** with Akira Ikemi
Originally envisioned by Carl Rogers to objectively measure what happens in therapy, Klein, Mathieu, Gendlin and Kiesler developed The Experiencing Scales in 1970. Dr Ikemi explains, teaches and gives examples how this treasure can be used in therapy, in teaching counseling, and listening skills. Included in this DVD is the story and notes of his paper in which he discusses the significance of empowering the implicitly functioning relationship, in both its theoretical and practical dimensions. (Ikemi, A. (2011) "Empowering the Implicitly Functioning Relationship" is published in Person Centered & Experiential Psychotherapies, 10(1): 28-42)

IS FELT SENSE BIOLOGICAL
Gene Gendlin and Nada Lou discuss Biology and Felt Sense viewed through TAE steps and in Process Model. (Gene) Let me explain a little and then we’ll see what's left now okay. One of the difficulties is that steps imply that you go in order. And when you finish three and four and so on. (TAE steps)But with ten, eleven and twelve you go back and forth across many times. Because the playing is fun all right. The setting it down when you finally have it. Well okay, but the playing is the fun part. I want to say in addition to the ordinary use of the word IS that's there are two other ways of using the word IS. More precisely. And they're very different okay? So in step 11 the word IS - I put it in capital letters. And there you are crossing two things that come in many ways. It's a kind of thinking… mm-hmm that big “IS”. So I'd say like, there's real sense it’s biological… Then I would say well wait, Biology in some way, among other things, have felt sense… and there you are equating two things that are not at all the same. You're crossing them. But this is the exciting, fun, interesting part. . . History of this clip --- During the editing process of the production of DVD "Thinking Freshly from Experiencing", I wanted to make sure that I understand TAE Steps - 10, 11, 12 correctly - (Theory Construction/Logic). I decided to visit Gene and have a chat with him about it. This clip is the small portion of our delightful conversation on the topic of BIOLOGY and FELT SENSE. This is a short excerpt from the same DVD http://www.nadalou.com/Nada_new/DVD_Thinking_Freshly.html

Nada's Lion Dream, interpretation with Gene Gendlin
Dreams and Focusing Dreams are fascinating. Everybody dreams. Most people think dreams are crazy - they miss metaphorical language. Dream is like a "gold mine of felt senses." In this clip Dr. Eugene Gendlin and Nada Lou work together on interpreting Nada’s dream. Creator of Focusing movement and author of book “LET YOUR BODY INTERPRET YOUR DREAMS”, Dr. Gendlin gives several instructions to the participant of this event about his method of dream interpretations. Dr. Gendlin's listening style and inner processing accompaniment is featured - for those who want to learn from the master! (Gene) Yeah there's so much to say about dreams. What else? Oh one other thing I could say. The person has to be there whose dream you're interpreting. You cannot interpret a dream that’s written down.
